Officer Robert Orr and Officer Nathan Valente: Dennett Elementary School Resource Officers (full time)
Officers Orr and Valente share the role of the full time school resource officer. The SRO’s participate in important discussions, educate students, give presentations about various topics, create a safe environment for all and support the students in all that they do. The students can rely on the SRO, and law enforcement in general, to keep them safe but also to be a resource, someone to talk to and as an ally. Officers Orr and Valente both joined the Plympton Police Department in 2023 after transferring from another local agency.
Officer Dana Smith: D.A.R.E Officer (part time)
Officer Dana S. Smith has been with the Plympton Police Department since June of 2004. In addition to his duties as D.A.R.E officer he is the firearms licensing officer for the department. Officer Smith attended the criminal justice program at Northeastern University and has an Associate of Science Degree in criminal justice from Cape Cod Community College. He has been involved in law enforcement in varied capacities for over twenty years.
